Yeguada Cartuja reviews the CENRE-Yeguada Cartuja 2025 Awards presented at six national-level shows

The National Zootechnical Reference Centre for the Equine Sector (CENRE), run by Yeguada Cartuja, reaffirms its commitment to the Spanish equestrian sector as a reference forum for innovation, knowledge transfer and genetic improvement. Throughout 2025, CENRE has driven various outreach initiatives, notably the CENRE-Yeguada Cartuja Awards, aimed at recognising the merit of breeders and stud farms that excel in national shows across different breeds: Purebred Spanish Horse (PRE), Arabian, Anglo-Arab and Hispano-Arab.

Once again, the Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado stud farm has rewarded the effort, genetic quality and excellence of the nine national winning animals across various shows, by awarding vouchers for reproductive services. These incentives aim to encourage the use of advanced reproductive techniques, ensure health standards and promote the storage of high-value genetic material.

Boosting genetic improvement in the horse

The awards consist of a €1,500 voucher, redeemable for semen collection, processing and/or storage services for commercial purposes, according to the official rate of the Equine Reproduction Centre (CRE). This programme demonstrates CENRE and Yeguada Cartuja’s commitment to conservation, genetic improvement and the professionalisation of the equine farming sector in Spain.
