Start1 March 2023
End28 February 2027

Description →

EUnetHorse stands for the European Network for Knowledge Exchange and Peer Learning among Equine Sector Agents and Stakeholders, with the aim of improving the resilience of equine holdings. It is the first European agricultural research project dedicated to equine animals, and it is funded by Horizon Europe.

This innovative initiative seeks to drive significant progress in the equine sector by encouraging structural change and implementing innovative working practices. Through specialist committees, extensive consultation with stockbreeders and thorough international analysis, EUnetHorse is set to redefine the future of equine practices.

Funded by the European Union, the EUnetHorse project will run for four years, from 2023 to 2027. With 15 partners from nine countries taking part (France, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Romania and Switzerland), the project is a collaborative initiative between universities and research centres across Europe. Its main objective is to engage stockbreeders, advisors and equine trainers.

The project's main objective is to facilitate connections between various sectors, such as sport and leisure, horse racing, agriculture and food production. This involves operating at regional, national and European geographical levels and engaging different stakeholder groups to drive transformative changes in practices.
