On 15 September 2026 at 19:30, ANCCE officially presented EquigenIA at the Hotel Querencia in Seville, an innovation project that brings artificial intelligence, genomics and digital tools to the equine sector and puts them at the service of breeders of the Pura Raza Española horse.
During the event, aimed at breeders, technicians, veterinarians and sector professionals, representatives of the participating organisations explained the project's starting point, the needs behind it and the possibilities offered by combining genomic data, artificial intelligence and digital tools to advance PRE breeding, health and genetic improvement. EquigenIA is a 40-month Operational Group awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food under its call for innovation projects of general interest. It is led by the Royal National Association of Pura Raza Española Horse Breeders (ANCCE), with the Royal Spanish Federation of Pedigree Livestock Associations (RFEAGAS), NUNSYS, the University of Córdoba (UCO) and the University of Seville Research Foundation (FIUS) as beneficiary members.
