From 29 to 31 October 2026 Palma hosts the 15th Iberian Congress on Animal Genetic Resources, at the Jovellanos Auditorium of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
It is organised by the Balearic Institute for Agri-food and Fisheries Research and Training (IRFAP) together with the Spanish Society for Animal Genetic Resources (SERGA) and the Portuguese Society for Animal Genetic Resources (SPREGA), to foster the exchange of knowledge, the dissemination of research results and dialogue among professionals, researchers and specialists devoted to the conservation and management of animal genetic resources, in the Iberian Peninsula and internationally.
The programme includes keynote lectures, round tables, scientific presentations and workshops. Scientific contributions are accepted, as oral presentations or posters, on the genetic diversity of breeds, their productive and demographic characterisation, and the management, conservation, improvement and valorisation of animal genetic resources, including equine breeds.
