From 3 to 5 March 2027 Granada hosts the 16th International Congress of the Spanish Association of Equine Veterinarians (AVEE), the main annual meeting of equine veterinary medicine in Spain, under the theme "Why doesn't it perform? Complete evaluation of the sport horse".
The congress brings together equine veterinarians from Spain and Latin America to analyse, from a practical and multidisciplinary perspective, the main factors that condition the horse's athletic performance: sports medicine and exercise testing, the respiratory system, cardiology, nutrition, the digestive system, musculoskeletal disease, podiatry and farriery, rehabilitation, reproduction and anti-doping rules.
Programme
- Wednesday 3 March · Practical workshops: applied training in equine medicine and sports performance (cardiac monitoring, exercise tests, musculoskeletal disease…).
- Thursday 4 March · Scientific day 1: Why doesn't it perform? Complete evaluation of the sport horse. Lectures, free communications and round tables; AVEE general assembly and congress dinner.
- Friday 5 March · Scientific day 2: Equine sports medicine: diagnosis, treatment and performance.
Lectures, clinical cases, round tables and workshops make up a programme designed to offer knowledge directly applicable to daily practice. Registration (with early-bird discounts) and abstract submission are handled on the congress website (in Spanish).
